Bring your own caterer

You choose who feeds your guests. Hire any licensed caterer, order from a restaurant, or bring food you make yourself. Sparks has no in-house catering, so you aren't tied to a venue menu. The warming kitchen can handle up to about 500 guests, depending on whether the caterer pre-preps or cooks on site. Food trucks can park along the lot with approval at least 14 days ahead. Need a caterer? Our preferred caterers are Marvelous Catering, Magleby's, Brown Brothers Catering, LUX Catering & Events, and Market Catering. Alcohol is the one exception to the open-vendor rule. It must come through one of our preferred alcohol vendors and be served by a licensed, insured bartender, including beer and wine. Alcohol adds a $300 fee, and you need liquor liability insurance that names Sparks Museum and Event Center on the policy.

Wedding questions

Where can we hold the ceremony?

You have two options. Hold the ceremony inside at your regular rental rate, or on the lawn by the Provo River and then move inside for the reception. Ask us about setup for an outdoor ceremony.

When can our decorator and vendors get in?

Setup, vendor arrival, and teardown all happen inside your booked hours. If your decorator needs more time, book extra hours at the start of your rental. Send your floor layout at least 7 days before the event. A layout change after that costs $250.

What decorations are allowed?

Attach decorations with blue painter's tape only, and keep them off the signs, gas pumps, and cars. Fresh greenery and battery candles are fine. Confetti, glitter, and real candles aren't allowed, except candles on a cake.

How late can the reception go?

Plan for an 11 PM end on Fridays and Saturdays. Build your last dance and send-off into your timeline so you finish on time.

Can we do a sparkler send-off?

Yes. Sparklers are allowed on the patio and in the parking lot if you arrange them ahead of time. Keep them away from the grass.

Can our photographer use the cars and the river?

Yes. Couples pose with the cars, and a manager guides any touching. The river and hillside work well for portraits near sunset. Outside photographers need business insurance that covers damage.

How do we hold our date?

Pay the $750 damage deposit. Your date isn't held until it's paid. Before you book, tour the venue for free by calling Tiffany at 801-477-6977.
